Mercy Springfield is the only facility in Southwest Missouri to have the CyberKnife, technology that delivers beams of cancer-destroying radiation with “tight to the tumor” accuracy.
Though its name may conjure up images of incisions and surgery, the treatment involves no cutting and is a non invasive alternative to surgery. The CyberKnife can treat cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere in the body, particularly tumors that were previously inoperable and otherwise untreatable.
