David O. Barbe, MD - Regional Physician Executive: Primary Care, Southwest Missouri
Dr. David Barbe serves as regional physician executive for primary care for Mercy Springfield Communities. In that role, Dr. Barbe oversees more than 80 clinics and more than 300 advanced practice providers. He has practiced family medicine in Mountain Grove, Missouri, for more than 40 years. During his career, Dr. Barbe has held numerous leadership roles, including president of the World Medical Association, president of the American Medical Association and president of the Missouri State Medical Association.
Education and Credentials
Dr. Barbe earned his medical doctorate from the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Medicine in 1980 and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Kansas affiliated program (now Via Christi) in Wichita, Kansas. He earned his Master of Health Administration from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
