Becoming a doctor takes nearly a decade of education plus years of ongoing training. Residency training is an important part of this process. Mercy residents train for three years in an internal medicine setting. Residency training is intensive clinical training under the on-site supervision of experienced, board-certified internal medicine physicians.

Care Philosophy Growing up through high school, I did a lot of volunteer work. I worked with a lot of people and I found that I really enjoyed it. I also excelled in the sciences academically. So it's kind of through that combination that I decided to combine the best of both worlds and be a part of medicine. One of my mottos that I live by is that variety is the spice of life and internal medicine gives me really good exposure to a lot of the different fields of medicine. I thought this would be the best path for me. I really enjoy meeting people from all parts of the world, different walks of life and helping them through what can be a very difficult time in their lives.
