I brought both kids in. My toddler was acting up while we were discussing my infant. The NP was very helpful with getting him to listen, however I did feel like my concerns weren't taken seriously. They checked the baby's oxygen levels and when those were fine that was pretty much the end of the discussion about her - the next day everything continues to worsen and I brought her to urgent care where she was diagnosed with RSV after being swabbed for that as well as flu/covid, none of which were even offered at Mercy. I brought my toddler in for a possible ear infection, and when we tried to clean his ears to get a better look, his ear began bleeding and once they took another look, they did a great job assuring me that it was his ear canal and not his drum bleeding, but then there was no addressing his lasting cough if it wasn't caused by an ear infection. Although the treatment outcome is basically the same regardless of the RSV diagnosis, I felt like because the baby wasn't actively coughing and the toddler was acting out, my concerns were slightly brushed off, which is really unusual for our experience!
