About Phan Thai Saligrama, MD

Care Philosophy I grew up in California in an immigrant family, and my mom didn't speak much English. I realized that there were gaps in the care she received. As I progressed in my education, I realized there were gaps in her care - she'd been misdiagnosed and didn't get certain types of care that she should have. I wanted to make sure I could have a positive impact on patients' lives by providing the care my mom should have received. The most important quality of a rheumatologist is their ability to listen to their patients and hear what they have to say, what their problems are, how we can make them feel better. I'm excited to join Mercy, build relationships with my patients and to see where that goes. And I hope sometimes they come in for an appointment and don't have any issues, because the treatment I gave them worked.

The physician lacked complete empathy and concern for my symptoms. Rude and started our conversation with "well I'm not really sure why they sent you here". Would never recommend her to another patient.

Dr. Saligrama was wonderful. She was kind, patient, caring and knowledgeable. I give her two thumbs up and more if I had more thumbs!
