The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program is accredited with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. During the 12-month program, residents will have the opportunity to practice in a variety of clinical settings to gain valuable skills and experience applicable to future careers.
Applicants must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be eligible for licensure in Missouri.

Our program provides multiple opportunities for residents to teach and perform research in the pharmacy field. Mercy Hospital-Southeast provides experiential training for students from several colleges of pharmacy. Residents will have the opportunity to participate in the resident Teaching Certificate offered by the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville School of Pharmacy.
Residents provide a formal seminar on a focused therapeutic topic to students, clinical pharmacists and providers in the region.
Residents will be required to complete a research project suitable for publication and present at a residency conference.
Residents are paid a stipend of $52,000 for the residency year. Additional benefits include paid time off, travel reimbursement for meetings, and health, dental and vision insurance.

Current Residents
Brandon Groenhagen
Brandon Groenhagen is originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He attended the University of South Dakota where he received his Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology in 2018. He then worked as a pharmacy technician for two years before applying and attending South Dakota State University. He graduated with his PharmD degree in 2024.
Brandon chose Mercy Hospital Southeast for his PGY1 because of the diverse rotation options, a positive atmosphere, and a strong emphasis on wellness in the pharmacy team. His pharmacy practice interests include infectious disease and oncology.
Outside of residency, Brandon enjoys watching football, fishing, and hiking. He also enjoys trying various great restaurants throughout the Cape Girardeau area.
Ramah Jabri
Ramah Jabri is originally from Lombard, Illinois. She earned her PharmD degree from Midwestern University- Downers Grove School of Pharmacy in 2024. Ramah chose the Mercy Hospital Southeast residency program because of the various opportunities and amazing support system. Her pharmacy interests include internal medicine, ambulatory care, and academia.
Outside of her residency, Ramah likes to paint and read.
