Becker's Hospital Review Honors St. Louis Women's Health Services

December 28, 2016

ST. LOUIS – Known for its comprehensive women’s health services, Mercy Hospital St. Louis has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review in the 2017 edition of its list of 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Women’s Health Programs.

The hospitals included on this list offer award-winning care to women in a variety of specialties, including gynecology, obstetrics, women-focused heart care and women-focused cancer care.

“The Sisters of Mercy came to St. Louis in 1856 and cared for women and children,” said Trish Geldbach, vice president of women’s services at Mercy. “And, while our services have expanded beyond those areas, it’s obvious that we still have a focus on providing great care to women at all stages of their lives.”

The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on analysis of several ranking and award agencies, including national rankings and awards received from several institutions, including U.S. News & World Report national and regional rankings for gynecology, CareChex rankings for women's health care, women's health Healthgrades awards, Women's Choice Award's Best Breast Centers list and Baby-Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA, the accrediting body for the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in the U.S.
