June 7, 2018

Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Surdyke Motorsports and J-98 The Boot radio station are teaming up again to save lives in our community with the fourth annual 98 Days of Summer blood drive.

Donors are invited to stop by the Surdyke Motorsports showroom at 1305 US Highway 61 in Festus from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, to donate through Mercy Blood Donor Services.

In addition to helping patients in need of blood, donors also receive a special commemorative T-shirt, and an opportunity to win prizes from Mercy, Surdyke and the radio station.

Walk-in donors are welcome, but those who make appointments are given priority at the blood drive. To schedule an appointment online follow this link: 98 Days of Summer Online Blood Drive Registration

Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with permission from a parent or legal guardian. They must be at least 115 pounds and in good health. All donors should allow eight weeks between donations.

Mercy Blood Donor Services is the only mobile, hospital-based, blood collection center in the state of Missouri. Being mobile means bringing services to peoples’ places of business, worship or school. The service allows the hospital to collect life-saving blood supplies from the community, for the community at a portion of the cost.

For information regarding medical eligibility, or if you would like to host a community blood drive at your school, business, organization or place of worship, call 314-251-4483.
