Amber Malen Wins Springfield DAISY Award

Congratulations to Amber Malen, ICU nurse, on winning the DAISY Award. A patient's mother nominated Amber after she provided care and comfort during a scary situation with her son in the ICU. Amber's nominator wrote:

My son was a patient in the ICU a few months ago. Amber took amazing care of him. I was in awe as she cared for his every need—there were many. Then, she also found time to care for me and his dad. She helped us feel less scared in such a scary situation. She comforted us and encouraged us to take care of ourselves too. She didn’t have to do that.

THEN she came to visit my son on the regular floor and brought him his favorite drink that he so wanted while in ICU. Her caring and compassion were a blessing to us all when we needed it the most.
