Lebanon has landed a new nurse practitioner with years of health care experience.
Jennifer Zabel has joined Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Lebanon. Prior to her move, she spent five years as a registered nurse in the operating room at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. “Specializing meant I helped patients with one need,” she said. “That was rewarding, but I wanted to transition into taking care of patients in all aspects, so I went back to school to become a nurse practitioner. I want to address my patients’ overall health.”
Zabel says one key to feeling good physically and mentally is a healthy diet. “A healthy lifestyle can be difficult to achieve – I understand that,” she said. “But I hope to give patients the tools they need to get there.”
Zabel grew up in St. Louis, but the lure of small-town life brought her to Lebanon. “It’s a town with a strong sense of community, and I wanted to be a part of that,” she said.
She’s also picked the perfect area to grow one of her interests. “I enjoy animals and hope to have a small hobby farm one day,” she said.
