Mercy has achieved the "Gold Stars 9" level in Epic, placing the health system in the top 16 percent of all health systems using the application. Reaching Level 9 means Mercy has adopted at least 85 percent of the Epic Gold Star features and demonstrates how we're leading the way in EHR use.
Epic's Gold Stars Program helps organizations better understand and maximize the use of the system as well as determine where to focus next. It measures organizations in several key focus areas, including patient access, patient experience, clinical quality and safety, population health management, physician productivity, nursing and clinical team productivity, and more.
"This is a significant achievement that is the result of our teams' extensive knowledge, clinical/operational experience and dedication to maximizing our investment in Epic," shares Mark Brinley, Mercy's vice president of enterprise applications. "Moving to a single instance of Epic provided us with a strong foundation for this work and enables us to add even more functionality in the future that will benefit our patients and co-workers."
Through Mercy's continuous efforts to optimize the functionality in Epic, the health system is able to provide the highest level of care to our patients while also improving workflows within our care teams.
