David Argueta, president of Mercy Springfield Communities, was named to two major health care boards, and he will represent the entire Mercy organization during his tenure.
Argueta was elected as a state delegate to the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) regional policy board 6. The term began Jan. 1 and runs until Dec. 31, 2026. The AHA represents hospitals and health care systems at a national level and works to ensure members’ needs and perspectives are heard in health care policy debate and development.
Argueta was also appointed to serve as a member of the Missouri Hospital Association board (MHA) of trustees. The MHA is a not-for-profit association that represents and advocates on behalf of 140 Missouri hospitals. The board, which Argueta joined Jan. 1, 2024, provides governance for the MHA and assists in policy development.
“I’m honored to have been selected to each of these boards,” said Argueta. “This is a nod to Mercy’s role as an industry leader and innovator within health care. The Mercy system is one of the 20 largest U.S. health systems, and we’re leading the way in new technology and patient care right here in the Midwest. I hope that my time with the AHA and MHA boards continues to raise Mercy’s voice as a leader and innovator in our field.”
