ARDMORE, Okla. - Dr. Ashtami Banavali has lived in Ardmore for almost a decade and recently joined Mercy Hospital Ardmore’s cancer care team full-time.

Originally from India, Dr. Banavali was drawn to practice in an area where she could work with a wide variety of patients. She provides both hematology and oncology services to cancer patients.

“Working in cancer care is a privilege, and it’s important to listen to and help my patients through all phases of their illness,” said Dr. Banavali. “Care and treatment options have changed so much over the last decade that I believe we can now better help and make a difference for every patient we see.”

Dr. Banavali earned her medical degree from Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai, India, and did her residency in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She later completed a fellowship from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, in hematology and oncology.
