OKLAHOMA CITY – Mercy co-workers, leaders and members of the community celebrated the opening of Mercy Therapy Services – NW 50th St. today at a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
During the event, Brad Veitch, manager of Mercy’s spiritual care, blessed the facility and all who will work or receive treatment inside it.
The nearly 7,000-square-foot clinic is located next door to Mercy Clinic Orthopedic Associates in northwest Oklahoma City, ensuring coordinated care for people recovering from an illness, injury or surgery.
The clinic features one occupational therapist and three physical therapists with a goal of eventually expanding to 17 therapists (two occupational therapists and 15 physical therapists). When fully staffed, the new location will have capacity to serve up to 150 patients per day.
Mercy Therapy Services – NW 50th St. features:
- A large gym with the latest equipment.
- Physical therapy services for:
- Children, teens and adults with orthopedic or sports medicine injuries to help them improve strength, range of motion, mobility, balance and coordination.
- Elderly patients to help them strengthen their muscles and improve their ability to move.
- Occupational hand therapy to help patients strengthen their hands, wrists, arms or shoulders so they can learn or relearn the skills needed for independent living, like doing laundry, preparing meals and completing work-related tasks.
“The northwest part of Oklahoma City has needed additional therapy services for many years so patients of all ages can get the care they need closer to home,” said Rob Rosser, senior manager for Mercy Therapy Services in Oklahoma City. “We are excited to open this clinic and help people meet their goals, improve their quality of life and return to their normal activities.”
Mercy Therapy Services – NW 50th St. is accepting new patients ages 8 and older. Call the clinic to determine coverage. Patients can often see a therapist without a referral.
