Mercy and Centivo Join Hands to Offer More Options for High-Quality, Low-Cost Health Care

October 23, 2024

ST. LOUIS - Centivo, a pioneer in making high-quality health care more affordable for employers and their employees, has teamed up with Mercy to offer a health insurance plan to employers and employees in the St. Louis metro area, then will broaden to other regions, creating access to Mercy’s high-quality care for the community as a top provider.

Centivo will lower costs by prioritizing better health through primary care, which can prevent more costly treatments and hospital stays. Centivo patients are required to have a primary care physician, get free primary care and pay no deductibles.

Multiple news media organizations covered the story, including St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the St. Louis Business Journal. In the Post-Dispatch, Laurel Pickering, president of the St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition and Midwest Health Initiative, commended Mercy and Centivo for working together.

Pickering said, “Centivo usually works with one health system in a market and gets better rates than national health plans do.” She went on to say, “We applaud Centivo and Mercy for coming together to provide a new, innovative health plan for St. Louis area employers that is focused on affordability and primary care. We know that employees are struggling to pay for health care bills and primary care is the best way to improve health and lower costs.”
