Women With a Mission Awards Mercy Lebanon $20,000

November 8, 2024

Women with a Mission, a subset of Mercy Health Foundation, celebrated its one-year anniversary in the Lebanon community by presenting Mercy Hospital Lebanon with a check for $20,000.

Women with a Mission brings women together and provides an easy way to support and improve health care in Lebanon. Because membership is open to the community, WWAM groups are often a mix of medical professionals and community members who represent a range of industries and interests.

Mercy doctor's coat Lebanon's Women with a Mission chapter presented its first donation to Mercy Hospital Lebanon.

Each member of WWAM gives a $1,000 annual donation, which is then directed back to a cause the group votes to support. “This is a great way for women to come together and support our community,” said Stephanie Breedlove, project coordinator for Mercy Health Foundation Lebanon. “When we combine our single donations into a larger pool, our individual gifts can make a big difference in the lives of patients in Lebanon.”

WWAM established its Lebanon chapter last year and already has 32 members. The group’s gift will be used in several ways: to benefit Mercy Lebanon’s labor and delivery program, to purchase of a bariatric recliner for the ICU and to provide transportation assistance to patients in the emergency department.

Along with supporting health care needs of their community, members enjoy quarterly social events, educational gatherings and networking opportunities. During its first year in action, the Lebanon WWAM chapter gathered for a health seminar, hosted a charcuterie class and a fashion show, and put on a Christmas celebration.

The Christmas event was such a hit, the group is bringing it back even bigger this December with Santa as a special guest. Watch for more details in the coming weeks.
