TROY, Mo. – Continuing to fulfill its promise made almost 10 years ago to keep care close to home, Mercy is bringing yet another care option to Troy – cancer services.
In March 2015, the Lincoln County Medical Center (LCMC) Board of Trustees approved an agreement for Mercy to manage the hospital’s operations. Working together, the two organizations have solidified and extended the long-term lease and joint venture to bring an oncology program to the Lincoln County community.
“Our goal is to create a long-lasting partnership with Mercy to strengthen health care in our county,” said Dale McDonald, LCMC board chair. “We identified a need and have come together to make it happen.”
Services will include an oncology outpatient clinic, an infusion center and pharmacy upgrades that enable chemotherapy infusion. Renovations to existing space at Mercy Hospital Lincoln will begin soon, with work expected to be completed in summer 2025.
“For years, I’ve been asked when we would be getting cancer care in Lincoln County,” said Alan Smith, Mercy Lincoln chief operations officer. “Working closely with LCMC trustees, we’re ready to begin making that request a reality.”
Some services will be relocated, just down the road from the hospital, to make space for the new cancer services.
