ST. LOUIS - For the seventh consecutive year, Newsweek magazine named Mercy Hospital St. Louis one of the World’s Best Hospitals, ranking third in the state and 80th in the nation.
"Being recognized as a World's Best Hospital, for seven years in a row, is an incredible honor—though I always knew our team was world-class!” said Dr. David Meiners, Mercy St. Louis president. “This achievement reflects their compassion, expertise and commitment to delivering the highest quality care every day. I couldn’t be prouder… or more relieved that they let me be part of such a talented team."

Newsweek partners with Statista to analyze four types of data sources to select and rank the best hospitals in 30 countries with comparable data. The methodology included recommendations from medical experts; patient satisfaction surveys; hospital quality metrics on quality of care, hygiene, patient safety and waiting times; and an optional Statista patient-reported outcome measures survey.
The World’s Best Hospitals 2025 ranking includes hospitals from the United States, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, United Kingdom, South Korea, Brazil, India, Spain, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Colombia, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Malaysia, Thailand, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Israel and Singapore.
Newsweek also named three other Mercy hospitals among the World’s Best Hospitals, including Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma City and Springfield.
