Festus Senior Primary Care

Our clinic was designed with people 65 and older in mind. The space size, colors, and furnishings have all been chosen to create a comfortable, easy-to-navigate patient space. The senior health care services at Mercy Prime Plus include flu shots and other immunizations, medicare annual wellness visits, and general medical evaluations and wellness exams. The clinic also provides the treatment and management of the following:

  • Minor illnesses and injuries, including strains, sprains & fractures
  • Cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension

For patients with multiple chronic conditions, your physician helps monitor the effectiveness of medications and proactively addresses issues.

65 Prime+ is the new primary care practice for Medicare beneficiaries. It’s a primary care practice specially designed to meet the unique needs of Medicare patients.

  • As a 65 Prime+ patient, you’ll have extended visit times to make sure your concerns can be fully addressed without you or your care team feeling hurried.
  • Our physicians and advanced practice providers have fewer patients, allowing them to give you the attention you need.
  • You’ll be seen more frequently to keep ongoing conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease under control.
  • Our physicians and advanced practice providers are intensely focused on helping you meet your individual wellness goals and identifying problems early, before they can affect your health.
  • You’ll be able to get a routine appointment within a week.
  • For urgent concerns or sudden, severe conditions, you’ll be scheduled within one business day.
  • The foundation of the care team is a Mercy primary care physician or advanced practice provider solely dedicated to caring for Medicare patients.
  • Each provider is supported by a nurse and a care assistant.
  • The nurse provides education and clinical support to patients.
  • The care assistant provides clinical support to patients during clinic visits, and coordinates scheduling appointments and referrals.
  • The patient services representative provides registration and insurance support to patients.

The care navigator helps with all care needs during and outside of visits. This team member:

  • Coordinates referrals to specialists, therapists or other providers
  • Sets up tests or procedures
  • Obtains prescriptions and medical equipment
  • Makes sure that all preventive care like immunizations, lab tests, and cancer screenings are obtained
  • Seamlessly coordinates care when significant events occur, including emergency room or hospital visits

65 Prime+ will care for any patient with traditional Medicare or enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan currently accepted by Mercy.

  • Our practices provide complete primary care, including all wellness care, chronic condition management, and acute or urgent care.
  • Lab services and diagnostic testing are readily available in or near the practice.
  • Patients with a Mercy specialist or other specialist will continue their care with them.

No; geriatrics typically involves a one-time or occasional consultation visit for older adults. 65 Prime+ provides continuous primary care for our patients.

Our physicians may be trained in either internal medicine or family medicine, but all our physicians are experienced in and passionate about caring for older adults.
