Losing the extra pounds is just part of the battle of reaching and maintaining a healthy weight. The OPTIFAST® program for medical weight loss provides a medically safe weight loss option, with the opportunity to maintain the loss through lifestyle management. This intensive program is designed for those older than 18 years of age who have a body max index (BMI) of greater than 30.
How Does Medical Weight Management Work?
Medically monitored weight management programs are a safe alternative to surgery. They allow patients, under the supervision of a physician, to consume a low calorie diet (LCD).
The program utilizes a full meal replacement plan that transitions to self-prepared “everyday” meals in conjunction with comprehensive patient education and support, to help patients achieve long-term weight loss.
This program is intensive initially and will necessitate weekly visits during clinic hours. There are out of pocket costs (for meals and classes) which will not be submitted to insurance.

Duration = at least 12 weeks
Phase 2: Transition - meal replacements + everyday food
