We provide family-centered care that caters to the needs of mothers and babies equally. Each family will have their own personalized birth experience with private labor, delivery and recovery rooms. This approach allows for more family bonding and creates a safe space for new parents to learn and practice new skills.

Labor and Delivery Suites

Mercy Birthplace - Springfield offers spacious suites for both labor and postpartum recovery with many exciting features, including:

  • Modern positioning beds that support labor progression and comfort, even if you've received an epidural
  • Birth balls, peanut balls and balance bars to enhance your labor progress
  • Convertible sofa bed, pillows and bedding for birth partners
  • Free Wi-Fi and plenty of workspace for birth partners
  • Flat-screen TVs compatible with most electronic devices
  • Nearby waiting areas, designed with families in mind

After delivery, you and your baby will stay in the same room for the rest of your time at our hospital. Friends, family and loved ones are welcome to visit. 

Springfield Birthplace Classes & Tours

Congratulations! We’re honored to share this important time with you. Our childbirth classes in Springfield are here to give you the knowledge and confidence you need before, during and after your baby’s birth.   

Our family-centered birthplace tour will give you a sneak peek at our hospital and birthing suites before your expected due date. You'll have the opportunity to ask staff any questions ahead of time. Knowing what to expect before your big day will help you feel more comfortable when it's time to deliver your baby.
