Mercy Birthplace is Springfield's birthplace of choice for growing families. Welcoming your baby into the world is one of life’s unique joys. At Mercy Birthplace in Springfield, MO, we’re proud to share your memorable day by helping make your childbirth experience the best.

Mercy provides family-centered mother-baby services that address the needs of mothers, babies, and their families. This approach promotes family bonding while helping new moms and dads perfect their parenting skills. At Mercy Birthplace in Springfield, MO, you'll experience a personalized birthing experience with private labor, delivery, and recovery rooms.

From early pregnancy to the days, weeks, and months following the birth of your baby, Mercy is here to help every step of the way with southwest Missouri's best mother-and-baby care. When you choose Mercy for the birth of your baby, you’ll appreciate the expertise of our multidisciplinary medical team and the reassurance of our Springfield level III NICU for those unexpected complications.

Mercy recognizes that many women seek a low-intervention childbirth experience with midwives. As a result, we opened the Mercy Midwifery Service, the Springfield area's first in-hospital low-risk birthing service managed by certified nurse-midwives (CNMs).

The low-intervention rooms are on the hospital's fifth floor, around the corner from Labor and Delivery. The two low-risk birthing suites are decorated to create a calming ambiance resembling bedrooms in your home. Each suite has a queen-size bed, showers, and oversized tubs for labor.

The CNMs also attend labor and birth in the traditional Labor and Delivery unit for VBACs, women who need or want an epidural, or patients who must be collaboratively managed with an OB/GYN for higher-risk issues.

Mercy Clinic Midwifery - Smith Glynn Callaway - Suite 240, located at 3231 South National Suite 240 in the Smith Glynn Callaway building, provides prenatal, lactation, well-woman, postpartum, and well-baby care for complete care with the midwives. We also have a physician on staff and an OB/GYN hospitalist on call for collaboration, consultation, and referral.
