Schedule your mammogram today! Please call 314-251-6300 or 800-446-3742.

The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammograms beginning at the age of 40. It's also important to start at around age 19 with self-breast exams on a monthly basis and yearly clinical breast exams by your doctor.

If you’re having a mammogram for the first time, you may have questions about what to expect. Download our Guide to Mammograms to learn more about techniques, age guidelines and more.

Mammography

Our breast radiologists specialize in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and minimally invasive biopsy techniques. Our oncology nurse navigators help guide you through your entire treatment process.

We ensure the most thorough assessment, plus the convenience and peace-of-mind of coordinated care for diagnosis, treatment and counseling. On-site capabilities and services include:

  • Screening and diagnostic in digital mammography
  • 3D Tomosynthesis mammography
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Stereotactic and ultrasound guided core biopsies
  • Needle localizations
  • Education/support through our Cancer Information Center
  • MRI

3D Mammography

Mercy Breast Center offers 3D mammography (breast tomosynthesis) for women who are at high risk for breast cancer or who have dense breast tissue. A 3D mammogram can detect breast cancer at early stages because of all the images available to the radiologist. It also helps reduce the number of false positives for breast cancer, so women don't have to return for additional screening mammograms.

If you have a personal or family history of breast cancer, be sure to ask for the 3D mammogram when you schedule your annual mammogram.
