Headaches are the most common reason people miss school or work. No one should have to suffer from chronic headaches. Quality of life can be affected for those suffering from chronic headaches and migraines. Simple lifestyle changes may reduce the number of headaches you have and improve your quality of life.

At Mercy Headache Management you will be treated by providers who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with difficult to treat headaches. At your initial visit we will assess your history of headaches and design an individualized plan of care just for you. We work with you to identify headache triggers and make lifestyle modifications that can help you avoid headache triggers. Making simple lifestyle changes may drastically reduce the frequency and severity of your headaches. Medical management may include medications and diagnostic testing. Medications may be prescribed to prevent headaches from occurring or taken at the first sign of a headache to keep your headache from causing disability and loss of function.

At Mercy, we utilize a team approach to successful headache treatment. Following your initial assessment, our headache team will meet to make recommendations for continued successful treatment of your headaches.

Our headache services include:

  • Medical management
  • Lifestyle education
  • Medication management

Consult your physician, if you experience any of the following:

  • You take a pain reliever every day or almost daily
  • You often need more than the recommended doses of over-the-counter medications to relieve headache symptoms
  • Your headaches keep getting worse and will not go away
  • Your headaches have changed in character
  • You develop headaches after the age of 50
