Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City is accredited by the Joint Commission as an Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center. It’s the highest level of stroke certification, given only to hospitals able to treat the most complex cases of stroke through detection, treatment and rehabilitation.
We know returning home from the hospital after a stroke can be overwhelming. We’re here to help you navigate through the transition.
Shortly after your discharge from the hospital, you’ll meet with our outpatient stroke team to create a customized plan that will help you get back to your regular activities as soon as possible. The goal of this plan to ensure a smooth transition as well as reduce the risk of having another stroke or other, related complications.
Before you’re discharged from the hospital, the stroke team will schedule your first appointment. You’ll receive a follow-up call shortly after you leave to check on how the transition is going. If you have any questions about the program, please call the stroke office at 405-486-8737.
