Mercy South’s ER is available 24/7 with advanced emergency care and the only complex trauma, heart and stroke centers in the South County and Jefferson County areas. Our ER staff includes board-certified emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other clinicians trained to provide lifesaving care.

As the only Level II Trauma Center in South County and Jefferson County, Mercy has the expertise and resources to care for complex and critical medical conditions. We work closely with first responders across 26 EMS districts to coordinate transport and deliver immediate trauma care to those in need.
Our South County emergency and hospital physicians work quickly to identify and treat active heart emergencies. Blocked arteries are cleared in as little as 12 minutes (the national standard is 90 minutes). Our St. Louis hospital uses the Fast Track system, which eliminates the waiting room; patients go immediately to a private room where all care is performed. Emergency care is seamlessly integrated with on-site cardiologists and other cardiovascular specialists.
