Mercy Kids Children’s Hospital Springfield is Southwest Missouri’s only full-service children’s hospital and is a member of the Children’s Hospital Association. Mercy Children's Hospital is part of Mercy Kids, a network of pediatric services designed to meet the needs of every child, every day.
At Mercy Kids Children’s Hospital in Springfield, we see kids through any childhood health issue, from coughs, croup and broken bones to more serious concerns such as autism, heart defects, and cancer. Our Springfield Children's Hospital offers nearly 60 pediatric subspecialists with advanced expertise across more than 25 pediatric specialties. We offer a full range of services to support healthy childhoods, including pediatric specialty developmental and therapy services including physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), respiratory therapy (RT) and speech therapy.
The Betty and Bobby Allison Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), is a 46-bed unit that provides care for premature or critically ill newborns. The NICU is designed with all single-family rooms, with seven twin rooms and one four-bedroom used for triplets and quadruplets. Our NICU also features a neonatal and pediatric transport team that provides full-service transport to Mercy Children’s Hospital Springfield for critically ill or injured children ages 0-17.

The Springfield Ronald McDonald House, located on the sixth floor of Mercy Children’s Hospital, is an 8,200-square-foot ‘home away from home’ that serves families of children who are hospitalized.
Child life specialists focus on the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families. They help reduce the stress and anxiety of hospitalization by teaching your child about various hospital experiences through medical and therapeutic play, and by distraction during medical procedures.
Our new pediatric emergency department in Springfield provides complete pediatric emergency care 24 hours a day, every day. A new, dedicated drop-off route and entrance, pediatric reception, triage and waiting areas mean faster access to care and a safe space to guard children against situations in the adult ED that might seem frightening.
