Typically exams take just 15 minutes (or 30 minutes if you have breast implants).
Bring your photo ID and medical insurance card.
You’ll be asked to schedule additional imaging at a Mercy facility. This may include ultrasound imaging to determine whether it’s a normal breast change or if more testing or a biopsy is needed.
Start at age 40 if you’re at average risk of breast cancer — meaning you have no family history of the disease or other risk factors. If you have a family history of breast cancer or other risks, talk with your doctor about the schedule that’s right for you.
