Specializing in Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy

If you have an ongoing health issue or are recovering from an injury or surgical procedure, your doctor may recommend Mercy Therapy Services. Our care team will design a personalized exercise plan for you to reduce pain, build strength and increase mobility.

Typically, physical therapists treat conditions of the neck, back and lower body. At Mercy Therapy Services, our occupational therapists will focus on your upper extremity (i.e., your arm, shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand).

If needed, our speech language pathologists will provide therapy to improve your speech and communication. Our team will even teach you how to safely exercise in your own home. So your recovery can progress while you stay comfortable, healthy and well.

Experienced Therapists for Fast and Effective Recovery

Mercy’s wide range of therapies can increase your comfort, strength and ability to participate in all the activities you enjoy. Customized therapies include:

  • Balance training to improve posture, strength and walking stability for fall and injury prevention.
  • Parkinson’s disease therapies, including the LSVT BIG program, which can teach those living with neurological conditions to become more engaged in everyday activities. This innovative therapy program is conducted by certified physical therapists and a speech language pathologist. It’s backed by more than 20 years of research which documents improvements in:

o   Faster walking with bigger steps

                        o   Improved balance

                        o   Increased trunk rotation

  • Neurological therapy to help with conditions that affect the nervous system or range of movement, such as strokes, spinal cord injuries and Parkinson’s disease.
  • Sports medicine therapy to help heal injuries, minimize swelling and get you back in the game. An ongoing program of therapeutic exercises can also prevent future injuries.
  • Neck and back pain treatment plans to provide comfort and increase strength and flexibility. By continuing exercises at home, you can also avoid future neck and back issues.
  • Rehab therapy after total joint replacement to help you feel more comfortable, improve circulation and increase strength and overall mobility after surgery.
  • Pelvic floor muscle training to strengthen the muscles under the uterus, bladder and bowel (large intestine). These exercises can help both men and women who have problems with urine leakage or bowel control.
  • Dry needling treatments to relieve muscle tightness by increasing blood flow to a triggered muscle area. This technique is often paired with an exercise program and other physical therapy techniques to prevent trigger points from reoccurring.
  • Therapy using an AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ to reduce the impact of gravity and decrease the effect of your body weight by up to 80%. This innovative technology makes it possible to safely add weight-bearing exercises to your routine while lowering your risk of injury.
  • Our team of occupational therapists will provide specialized treatment of injuries to your upper extremity.

The friendly team at Mercy Therapy Services will partner with you on the path to recovery. We’ll evaluate your needs and pair you with the right therapist to provide exceptional one-on-one care for the best results.
