Sometimes, newborns require specialized medical care immediately after delivery because they are born prematurely or have special medical needs. When you have your baby at Mercy, you can take comfort in knowing we’re fully prepared to care for infants at risk in our Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs).
Standing by is a team of neonatal specialists - doctors and nurses who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in newborns.
Our NICUs offer advanced and comprehensive care for premature or critically ill babies.
24-hour care: We monitor infants around the clock and are there for moms and dads to listen, comfort and answer questions.
Kangaroo care: We encourage parents to provide kangaroo care to help our challenged newborns recover and thrive.
Breastfeeding: Our NICUs are equipped with electric breast pumps. A lactation specialist is available to help at all times.
Throughout your infant’s NICU stay, we make every effort to share information and keep you involved. We also have support programs where parents, whose newborns needed NICU care, share their experiences and help ease concerns.
At Mercy, you and your baby are always at the center of care. From delivery until your baby is ready to go home, we provide personalized, compassionate care at the highest level.
