What are the most common injuries to children? At Mercy's Emergency Department, the top three are falls, burns and motor vehicle accidents. But with safety education, we can prevent many of these accidents.
Mercy is the region’s leader in injury prevention education.
With three full-time injury prevention coordinators on staff, our Mercy Injury Prevention Center is able to share important safety rules and guidelines with children and families.
We travel to schools and public events in the community to discuss topics such as fire and burn safety, car seat safety, bicycle safety, driving safety, water safety and poison prevention.
Not all injuries can be prevented, but with education, many can be avoided. To learn more about Mercy’s safety program, please call or click one of the options below.
