The Birthing Center at Mercy Hospital Joplin features 15 beautiful LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, post partum) suites. Relax in the homelike atmosphere of a spacious private room that is equipped with all of the latest medical equipment necessary for the safest delivery of your baby.

Our state-of-the-art fetal monitoring system allows your nurse to observe baby’s heart rate from your suite as well as from the nurses’ station. This allows the nurse to closely monitor your progress during labor even when she is not in the room with you. A fully equipped operating room within the Birthing Center is available for Cesarean or complicated deliveries.

After delivery, your private suite is the perfect setting for your family and friends to bond with your new baby. Throughout your stay, our caring and considerate nurses provide you with personal information and education regarding the care of yourself and your newborn. Your baby even stays with you from birth until it is time to go home.
