The Ronald McDonald Family Room, operated by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States through a partnership with Mercy Hospital Joplin, offers an area set aside inside the hospital that replicates a home-like atmosphere for when a parent needs a break from the "hospital environment." Family members of pediatric or NICU patients at Mercy Hospital Joplin will have a quiet place to get away for a few hours without the burden of leaving the hospital.
The Family Room at Mercy Hospital Joplin is available free of charge for families of children 21 years of age and younger being treated in the hospital. It's staffed by volunteers from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. It's on the sixth floor of the hospital which is next to the pediatric unit and one floor up from the neonatal intensive care unit.
While there is no charge for visiting the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Mercy Hospital Joplin, volunteers are always needed and donations are always welcome to continue to provide for future families. For more donation and volunteer information, please contact the following:
