Mercy's Department of Neonatology is made up of Neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners who use the lates technologies and techniques to offer your baby the best possible care. Our team directs your child's care during a stay in the NICU 24 hours, 7 days a week. Our team is available daily to discuss your babys' medical care.
The Mercy Hospital Joplin Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offers the region's latest in care for the premature and critically ill infants. The NICU is staffed around the clock by neonatologists and licensed neonatal nurse practitioners, who work together to coordinate your child's care.
Neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists are also key members of your NICU team. Plus, we have the support of Mercy Kids pediatric specialist services in the region, including a pediatric surgeon, a neurologist, a neurosurgeon, endocrinologist, pulmonolgist and orthopedic surgeon.
Each single-family room in our NICU is equipped with advanced technologies to help little patients acheive their fullest potential. And as part of your family centered approach to care, each NICu room provides a comfortable space for parents to remain by your baby's side. You are an important part of your baby's medical team!
The Ronald McDonald Family Room, conveniently located near the NICU at Mercy Hospital Joplin, offers a place to rest and regroup during your child's hospital stay.
